Job Description

The Division of Primary Care Pediatrics at Stony Brook Children?s Hospital and the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University is seeking full time Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric primary care physicians at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels to join our growing, diverse, and talented team.  Candidates must possess or be eligible for New York State licensure. 

Our division serves a growing and diverse population of over 1.5 million residents of Suffolk County with ~150K visits across all our practice sites in 2022.  Currently, our team is composed of >20 board certified pediatricians and advanced practice practitioners who provide evidence-based, high quality care with patient-centered medical home recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for nearly a decade.  Our faculty supervise trainees in pediatrics and medicine/pediatrics residency programs as well as medical and nursing students. 

This is truly an exciting time to join as we are on the cusp of expanding our faculty and our scholarship portfolio.  The academic interests of current faculty include medical education, narrative medicine, quality assurance and improvement, clinical operations, population health, and health equity.

The clinical services of Stony Brook Children?s serve the nearly 500,000 children of Suffolk County, NY, and boast the following resources:

  • Residency training programs in Pediatrics, Med/Peds, Child Neurology and selected subspecialty fellowships.  
  • 105 Pediatrics faculty covering all Pediatric Sub-specialties including Adolescent Medicine, Allergy/Immunology, Cardiology, Child Abuse and Advocacy, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Genetics, Hematology/Oncology, Hospital Medicine, Infectious Disease, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonology, and Rheumatology.
  • Pediatric Surgical Specialists in General Surgery, ENT, Neurosurgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, and Trauma as well as additional expertise in Pediatric Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, and Oral-maxillofacial Surgery, and Renal Transplantation.
  • A 10-bed Med-Surg PICU featuring large individual rooms, a bariatric room, and capacity for 2 additional step-down beds.
  • Rich research resources for laboratory, translational, and clinical research exist within the 20 clinical departments of the Medical School and the larger University.  Competitive seed money support within the Department exists for junior investigators or mid-career investigators pursuing new directions.
