Asphalt Estimator

Position Overview
The Asphalt Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and preparing bids for asphalt paving projects. This role requires a strong understanding of grading, paving, and underground utilities, as well as the ability to analyze project specifications and develop cost estimates for small commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt paving projects including grading and underground utilities.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to gather necessary information for accurate bidding.
• Conduct market research to stay informed on material and labor costs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
• Monitor and track project costs to ensure estimates align with actual expenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt estimating or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of grading, paving, and underground utilities.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
