Description: Warehouse Supervisor
Position Description:
General Dynamics Land Systems, located in Sumner, WA is currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead and supervise a team of Material Coordinators performing warehouse responsibilities. The Warehouse Supervisor will supervise and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; manage team dynamics and resolve concerns; prepare and conduct employee evaluations.
Responsibilities may include some of the following:
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to work force.
- Supervise the receiving of incoming material and ensure that stock is put into proper locations.
- Oversee/ direct inventory control to ensure 100% compliance and accuracy through the government and through ISO 9001-2015 standards.
- Fill orders or issue supplies from stock.
- Maintain stock control records such as: non-production time of lines due to stock difficulties, goods returned to production department or salvage department because of defects, and amount and location of goods in storage.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of work processes.
- Incorporate controls measure to ensure receipt entries are managed and performed in a timely manner.
- Prepare periodic, cycle counts, special or perpetual inventory of stock.
- Count, sort, and weigh incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition invoices.
- Move or transport material and supplies to other locations using established shipping companies as required and other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct daily team meetings to ensure proper dissemination of information is directed to work force.
- Ensure work performed is in compliance of all applicable policies and procedures.
- Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicating and coordination with other departments and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years warehouse experience in either shipping, inventory control or receiving and packaging.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Associates degree from an accredited school in a related business or technical discipline REQUIRED .
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and supervisory skill.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Oracle is a plus.
- A valid vehicle operator's license and maintenance thereafter.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US passport and Visa.
- Ability to obtain and maintain and corporate credit card for travel purposes.
- Ability to relocate as needed.
- Must be a US person.
- Must be able to gain and maintain access to all military installations in which the work is performed.
Position Salary Range: $66,800 to $89,000 per year although new hires generally start between $78,000 to $86,000 depending on experience.
Position Incentive: Hired applicant will be able to receive an annual bonus.
