Technical Writer

Immediate opening for a remote Technical Writer!

Technical Writer Details:

• Contract position
• $28.00 to $32.00 /hour
• First Shift

• Work with company subject matter experts and other internal technology teams to develop and maintain operational and regulatory standards and process documentation.
• Work with company subject matter and system experts to understand and document assigned system jobs (automated or otherwise) to ensure all steps required for effective support are defined.
• Gather and analyze system information from various sources (technical library/Confluence, knowledge base articles, Word documents, etc.) to document new or changing system processes or functionality.
• Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and non-technical users.
• Manage documentation efforts effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Proactively escalate issues and roadblocks to management as they occur.
• Comply with company requirements and practices associated with documentation templates, repositories, and styles.
• Where needed, develop a documentation plan for identified documentation deliverables. Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet technology team deliverables.

Technical Writer Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent required
• Some college preferred
• 1-year minimum experience in a similar role preferred
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel. Microsoft project and or other project tracking software.
• Skills with Atlassian Confluence preferred
• Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations
• Strong oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to interface and influence all levels of management
