Job Description

Charles P. Johnson and Associates, Inc . seeks a Sr. Landscape Architect to join our Silver Spring, MD planning department! The ideal candidate will be responsible for working and managing a wide range of large and small projects including residential development, mixed use, commercial and institutional. The applicant will be responsible for preparation of layouts, grading plans, landscape, recreation and forest conservation plans. The position will include regular meetings with the clients and agencies and will require an understanding of design development, and review process. A knowledge of the review and approval processes within the various local Suburban Maryland agencies is desired. The applicant will be working in a team environment with other Landscape Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and CADD technicians. We are looking for an applicant that will participate in organizations and activities related to the industry and contribute to the CPJA marketing effort.

Required Skills:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in  Landscape Architecture  (PLA/RLA required).

·  Minimum  of 8 years of experience in site planning and landscape architectural design.

· Graphic design presentation skills

· Ideal candidate will be comfortable with coordinating with other engineers, subconsultants and managing clients

· Familiar with managing budgets, billing, and being the main point of contact with clients

· Experience in Montgomery, Prince George’s and Charles County, Maryland is ideal, but not required

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Oral presentation experience.

·  Grading experience is a must. Would like to see grading plans in candidate’s portfolio

· Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
