Purpose

Are you ready to make a difference in the community? We're seeking an Operations Dispatcher to join our team! You will support our Water Utility team by ensuring smooth field operations, managing workloads, resolving measurement discrepancies, scheduling construction crews, and providing crucial administrative support. Accountabilities

• Dispatch service and work orders to field teams, optimizing schedules provided by supervisors
• Manage and adjust the workload of Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) to ensure efficient operations, reviewing system reports, and preparing for upcoming tasks
• Generate and analyze reports on service orders, tracking their status from completion to aging
• Provide essential administrative support to the Operations team, helping to streamline processes
• Prioritize incoming calls and schedule orders effectively for field personnel, ensuring timely responses
• Collaborate with Operation Supervisors to enhance the utility locate process, including preparing and maintaining daily line locate records
• Maintain and generate various operational logs and reports, keeping accurate records on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Investigate and resolve measurement errors, coordinating necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy
• Act as a communication hub for field personnel, providing critical data and updates as needed
• Take on additional responsibilities as requested, contributing to the overall success of the Operations team

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of experience in customer service, dispatch, or related field; experience in the utility industry is a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with internal teams and external customers via phone, email, and written correspondence
• Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to handle everyday tasks efficiently
• Solid computer skills, including data entry, reporting, and the ability to navigate various software systems for referencing and retrieving information
