Job Title: MRI Technologist

Location: New York, NY 10019

Duration: 3 Months

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI imaging procedures in a clinical setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in operating MRI equipment, ensure patient safety, and provide excellent patient care and education related to imaging procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Perform clinical, technical, and administrative tasks required for MRI imaging.
  2. Operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment and complete imaging procedures.
  3. Assist, prepare, and position patients to ensure optimal imaging results.
  4. Use technical judgment to capture diagnostic-quality images based on protocols and patient needs.
  5. Educate patients on imaging procedures, including preparation, nature of the procedure, and specific instructions.
  6. Review patient safety questionnaires, follow MRI safety guidelines, and ensure patient safety prior to scanning.
  7. Ensure patient clearance before advancing to restricted zones (Zone 2 to Zone 3).
  8. Assist with administering contrast media and manage power injector preparation under aseptic technique.
  9. Position patients and coils to optimize imaging outcomes.
  10. Accurately scan and document patient-related information.
  11. Label images according to department SOP for clarity and accuracy.
  12. Provide direct assistance to physicians when required.
  13. Review images for technical acceptability and transmit to PACS in a timely manner.
  14. Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including linen management.
  15. Ensure imaging room is stocked with necessary supplies and accessories for safe operations.
  16. Record all patient tracking data into the Radiology Information System (IDX).
  17. Schedule exams within IDX as needed.
  18. Complete studies in IDX promptly to ensure seamless workflow.
  19. Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors or designated personnel.
  20. Adhere to infection control policies to protect patients, staff, and self.
  21. Attend required in-services and professional development sessions.
  22. Maintain licensure and certifications as required, adhering to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensure: Valid New York State License (L.R.T.); NY State IV Certification.
  • Certifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) MRI Certification; BLS Certification.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in MRI imaging protocols and operation of MRI equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Schedule:
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
