Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. The WRPS mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 54 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated organization engineering organization. WRPS was identified as "One of America's Safest Companies" in 2020; and was the recipient of the 2021 "Employer of the Year" by the Association of Washington Businesses.
WRPS is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Specialist for the Staffing organization to be responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle, develop strong relationships, maintain compliance and bring creative solutions for staffing issues.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct recruiting, screening, selection and offer process activities to hire qualified personnel
Assist in the development and implementation of recruiting strategies and position development
Collaborate and advise hiring managers through the recruitment and onboarding process ensuring program compliance
Brief and/or educate management on the Employment Staffing procedure, affirmative action planning and underutilization, organizational demographics and required adherence to applicable laws and regulations
Guide management on the targeted selection/interview process to identify the best-qualified candidate
Recommend and conduct external recruiting efforts as needed to meet specific staffing deliverables
Foster relationships with external entities that are sources for qualified and diverse candidates
Represent company at community outreach events and career fairs requiring occasional travel
Facilitate New Hire Orientation
Maintain applicant tracking and personnel requisition reporting
Assist with completing and tracking HR Staffing deliverables and support audit and reporting requests for internal and external customers
May conduct self-assessments on staffing and recruiting processes to identify potential process improvements
PeopleSoft/Recruiting data entry and SAP Crystal reporting as required for posting and closeout of postings
Please Note: This position is being advertised under the current Tank Operations Contractor, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS). However, now that transition activities have begun a candidate selected for employment may be hired under the incoming contractor, Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) contract. Further details will be provided during the hiring process.
Required Qualifications
Grade 15:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; and three (3) years related experience or combination of education and experience
Grade 16:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; and five (5) years related experience or combination of education and experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience as a Recruiter or similar capacity
PeopleSoft or a similar HRIS system experience

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $80,225
Hiring Range Maximum: $111,100
