Minimum Qualifications An earned doctorate with specific expertise in Career and Technical Education, Communications, Business and Data Analytics, Organizational Leadership, Strategic Leadership, Contextual Leadership, Organizational Learning, or closely related areas.

The candidate should have expertise in Business Communications, International Business Communications, Cross-Cultural Communications, Data and Assessment, Learning Analytics, Professional Development, Organizational Learning and development, or closely related areas.
Candidates who can demonstrate the following are desired:
- Professional experience to facilitate students' application of principles and concepts related to business communications, cross-cultural communications, data and assessment, and learning analytics.
- Experience with in-person and online teaching/training/professional development.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
Evidence of or potential for scholarship related to Career & Technical Education, Organizational Leadership and Learning, Business and Cross-Cultural Communications or related areas.

Description of the Department or Unit The
Department of Media, Career Studies, and Leadership Development is one of five departments in the
Reich College of Education, offering programs that prepare students for employment in a wide variety of teaching, administrative, and service roles, as well as employment or career advancement in business and industry. The department includes programs in Career and Technical Education; Organizational Leadership & Learning; Media, Technology and Learning Design; Library Science; International Leadership; and School Administration. The department serves students at the main campus in Boone and the new Hickory campus, in addition to App State Online students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teaching
- Extensive teaching in on-campus environments as well as hybrid and online courses.
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses related to business communications, cross-cultural communications, data and assessment, learning analytics, leadership, and professional development.
- Create and update curriculum materials to reflect advancements in the field.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages critical thinking and creativity.
Research and Scholarship
- Engage in high-impact research related to Career & Technical Education, Organizational Leadership and Learning, Business and Cross-Cultural Communications or related areas.
- Disseminate research findings through academic journals, conference presentations, public scholarship, or creative products.
- Pursue external funding opportunities to support research and creative projects.
Student Advising and Mentorship
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, guiding them in their academic and career pursuits.
Service, Leadership, and Engagement
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees and contribute to academic program development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on innovative projects and initiatives.
- Engage with the broader academic and professional communities through outreach and service.
